From Concept to Track: How Roboze Additive Manufacturing Supports Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team

In Formula 1, every second matters, not only on the track but also behind the scenes. The ability to develop, manufacture and adapt components quickly is essential in an environment where performance, reliability and continuous improvement define competitiveness.

For VCARB F1 Team, Roboze additive manufacturing technology supports the development of tools and specialized car components, helping the team turn ideas into functional parts within short timeframes while responding to demanding performance requirements.

We spoke with Domiziano Facchinetti, Chief Mechanic at VCARB F1 Team, about how additive manufacturing contributes to the team's daily operations, development processes and pursuit of competitive advantage.

Can you tell us about your role within the team?

“As Chief Mechanic, I oversee the garage team and coordinate the people working in the garage. I am also responsible for preparing the car and ensuring it is ready and reliable for every session.”

How does Roboze additive manufacturing support the team's activities?

“Roboze additive manufacturing technology helps us develop tools and specific car components whenever we need them, even within very short timeframes.

It gives us the flexibility to respond quickly to different requirements and supports our ongoing development activities.”

What are the main requirements for components used in Formula 1?

“First of all, components need to be lightweight, but at the same time robust and flexible.

They also have to withstand demanding operating conditions, including high temperatures, vibrations and lateral forces. Finding the right balance between these characteristics is essential.”

What is the biggest contribution of additive manufacturing to your development process?

“One of the most important advantages is the ability to turn ideas and concepts into real, functional parts in a very short time.

This allows us to move forward more quickly in our development process. In Formula 1, we always need to be as fast as possible to gain a competitive advantage over our competitors.”

Beyond development speed, what other advantages does Roboze additive manufacturing bring?

“This manufacturing approach offers several advantages. It helps us save time and reduce costs while giving us greater flexibility in developing the tools and components we need.

In such a competitive environment, these benefits can make a meaningful difference.”

Manufacturing Speed as a Competitive Advantage

The experience of VCARB F1 Team highlights the importance of manufacturing agility in high-performance motorsport.

When development cycles are compressed and components must meet demanding mechanical and environmental requirements, the ability to move rapidly from concept to production becomes a strategic advantage.

By combining advanced additive manufacturing technologies with high-performance materials such as Carbon PEEK, Roboze supports VCARB in producing lightweight, robust and functional components that meet the demanding requirements of Formula 1.

This approach helps VCARB accelerate development cycles, increase manufacturing flexibility and respond more efficiently to evolving technical and operational requirements.
