Roboze 3D printing solutions for Aerospace at GSEW 2023

The third edition of the Global Space Economic Workshop (GSEW@Italy) entitled "Additive Manufacturing in Space to boost entrepreneurship, sustainability and economic growth" will take place on 25 and 26 May 2023 in the splendid historic setting of the Norman Swabian Castle in Mesagne. The event is organized by the Aerospace Technological District with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the European Space Agency (ESA) and has the support of the Apulia Region and the patronage of the Municipality of Mesagne and the Province of Brindisi.

The program involves leaders and high-level representatives from institutions, defense, academia, and space and non-space industries. Among them Alessio Lorusso, Founder & CEO of Roboze, will share our experience in 3D printing lightweight aerospace parts with super polymers and composites.

How can 3D printing transform space activities?

Over the two days, the focus will be on the opportunities arising from the use of 3D printing for space activities (construction of lunar modules, construction of satellites, engines, thrusters, rockets, etc.) and on initiatives to support business generation. Additive manufacturing already enables the production of low- cost satellites and lighter, more efficient rockets to take cargos into orbit, and, in particular, will play a fundamental role in the future of space travel and interplanetary colonization. This will reduce the cost of commercial space activities thanks to advanced materials such as high-performance polymers and composites. By 2026, the market for 3D printing in private space will reach a value of $2.1 billion, providing new opportunities for European industry.

GSEW will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Aerospace Technology District.
