Roboze is not just another 3D printing company. We're here to reshape how mission-critical parts are made locally, on-demand, with zero compromise in performance or precision. Our materials and process technologies are trusted by top primes in Europe, and now we’re bringing that edge to the U.S. Aerospace & Defense ecosystem. We're not here to follow the rules of the old game , we're building a faster, leaner, decentralized future of manufacturing.
Why This Role Matters
Roboze is leading the industrial transformation of energy manufacturing, enabling localized, digital, and sustainable production for mission-critical parts worldwide.
As Director of Upstream Oil & Gas, you will:
• Contribute to the global additive manufacturing strategy for the upstream sector.
• Influence how leading OEMs and operators adopt high-performance polymers such as PEEK and Carbon PEEK.
• Collaborate with a global network of innovators building the future of on-demand, distributed manufacturing.
What You’ll Do:
1. Demand Generation & Application Scouting
Qualify downhole and surface equipment components that can be manufactured using Roboze’s advanced polymers and additive manufacturing technology in collaboration with leading energy OEMs (e.g., SLB, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, NOV, Weatherford).
Partner with procurement and technical leaders at OEMs to identify long-lead or obsolete components and assess opportunities for metal-to-polymer replacements.
Lead reverse-engineering initiatives with operators to map upstream asset demand and build the application pipeline for the Roboze Advanced Manufacturing Network.
Engage with engineering, reliability, and maintenance teams to identify chronic issues and translate them into actionable AM applications.
2. Application Qualification & Technical Enablement
Oversee feasibility assessments with Application Engineers and the Roboze Center of Excellence (CoE).
Drive pilot programs across downhole and topside applications to validate mechanical performance and field suitability.
Capture and document lessons learned through Roboze’s Digital Passport system to enable global replication and standardization.
3. Market Intelligence & Strategic Positioning
Build a deep understanding of upstream procurement processes, reliability programs, and part standardization frameworks (API, ASTM, IOGP, NORSOK, ISO).
Support the development of technical publications, white papers, and conference participation (OTC, ADIPEC, IPTC) to position Roboze as a trusted partner for reliability and digital transformation.
Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to develop content, training, and messaging tailored to the upstream segment’s priorities.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Application Engineering, Global RAM Partners, and Regional Business Managers to convert validated use cases into scalable demand.
Support RAM Partners and microfactory operators in identifying qualified upstream parts for local manufacturing and rapid deployment.
Provide market and technical insights to guide R&D initiatives in material development, printer qualification, and future product roadmaps.
Who You Are:
You have excellent technical knowledge of equipment reliability, corrosion mechanisms, and material performance.
You have excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
You are a strategic and practical thinker, able to link engineering innovation to operational and commercial impact.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: M.S. in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Materials Engineering (Ph.D. preferred).
15+ years in Upstream Oil & Gas, ideally within drilling, completions, or production equipment OEMs or asset integrity/reliability teams.
Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration between engineering and commercial functions.
Experience with manufacturing, materials engineering, quality, inspection is highly desirable.
What We Offer:
• A chance to build a U.S. operation from scratch, backed by proven tech and a winning European track record.
• Competitive compensation and upside tied to success.
• A culture that rewards speed, boldness, and results , not red tape.
• The opportunity to reshape how defense and aerospace manufacturers think about supply chains and sustainability.
Join the Mission
We're not interested in incremental change. We're here to challenge the status quo and lead a new era in defense manufacturing. If you're tired of waiting for change, and want to be the one driving it, this is your call.
